May 19, 2019: It's the special "A Tribute to Heroes" Memorial Day Parade on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday evening. The parade will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Local bands and choir groups, drum lines and dance teams, floats, kids decorated bike contest, food, drinks and live entertainment. May 27, 2019: Sarasota Memorial Day Parade: The Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee encourages all Sarasota residents to line Main Street as we recognize the sacrifices, courage, and patriotism demonstrated by Veterans. The parade starts at exactly 10 a.m. from Osprey and Main in Sarasota. There will be a fitting Memorial Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at Chaplain J. D. Hamel Park at the West end of Main Street


May 27, 2019: The Annual Venice Area Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at Patriots Park. American Legion NO-VEL Post will once again be the host. This will be a joint service with all of the Venice Area Veterans organizations (VFW, DAV, Marine Corps League) participating. Each organization and their auxiliaries will be laying wreaths. May 27, 2019: Snook Haven along with the Suncoast Blues Society present the 8th Annual Myakka River Blues Festival on Memorial Day. This year's headliner is Bryan Lee, a 2010 Grammy Nominee.
